WHAT I WORE: NUMERO 00 SS 2020 SHOW MILAN FASHION WEEK

By Posted on 0 Comments Location: 1 min read 492 views

Hey guys, I’ve just arrived in Milan yesterday after I caught the last leg of the London Fashion Week Menswear collections and it was most certainly a good idea to escape the British Weather leaving behind the rain showers  to wake up in Sunny Milan today. I’m so excited to be here for Men’s Fashion Week starting with my first show of the week to get a sneak preview of the Numero 00 Spring Summer 2020 Menswear collection to kick off Camera Moda Milano Men’s Fashion Week in style.

Last season my friend Alex modeled in the show back in January so I was keen to check out their new collection while I was here in a Milan for a few days. For today’s look I opted for classic casual seperates given the fact it was at least 32 degrees in the sweltering heat, so a crisp white t-shirt and a pair of light weight denim jeans seemed the right choice. Not forgetting comfortable footwear that looks chic too. But, also remember 2 or three changes in between shows or event is seen as the norm during Fashion Week. I’m really looking forward to tomorrows show’s and catch a bit of sightseeing in between, so I’ll see you there!

DEFIANT STATEMENTS OF ANARCHY & SOCIAL FREEDOM AT HOUSE OF HOLLAND AW 19

THE GLOBAL CITIZEN RUNWAY SHOW

The House of Holland returns to London Fashion Week this season to showcase their new collection ‘Global Citizen’ for Autumn Winter 2019 inspired by a utilitarian uniform for a generation who feel oppressed by how their world is governed. They want their voices to be heard and are prevalent in today’s society where fashion and politics are intertwined to make strong statements as the woman’s contemporary F**k you uniform staple.

This collection represents new millennials as the ‘Global Citizen’ to be outspoken and rebel for those who cross boundaries and show that creative inspiration cannot be confined. It is a reminder that women are strong, empowered and invigorated to make change which inspired Designer Henry Holland’s muses this season.

An exclusive collaboration between the House of Holland showcased a T-shirt project with the Netflix Show Sex Education and necklace accessories as vape cage carriers were created in partnership with VYPE. I also noticed the signature Grenson hiking boots were a carry over staple from the previous season but given a western woven paracord spin gave the collection a new edge too.

A juxtaposition between hard and soft details created outfits that were practical but still feminine were understated to form transition pieces for everyday work wear without being too overdressed.

WHAT I WORE: JULIEN MACDONALD SS 18 ‘READY TO WEAR COLLECTION’

By Posted on 1 Comment Location: 2 min read 90 views

Rumour has it a Model a friend of mine Georgia has recently just got back from a QE2 Cruise to New York for Transatlantic Fashion Week to walk for the king of Seventies Glamour himself Julien Macdonald before he debut’s his Spring Summer 2018 collection at London Fashion Week. So, who do you think I called then to come with me to the show? Of course it had to be Georgia as she’s lot’s of fun and I wanted to hear all about the model gossip during her trip to New York. Oh, wait!!! something about Mr Tinder and a cute guy model she nickname’s ‘The Lord’ both walked in the show for Transatlantic Fashion Week.

Meanwhile, back in London town it was all about the big names in the modelling industry that Julien always get’s to walk the catwalk in his stunning designs for the world’s gliteratti to see. As per usual me and Georgia could’nt help spy the FROW of VIP and Influencers in attendance from Lady Victoria Hervey, to Ronan Keating, Caprice and X-Factor’s Alexandra Burke who came to support Julien Macdonald this season. Most of all Julien certainly know’s how to throw an amazing party and look after his guest with pre-show drinks on arrival sponsored by Ciroc Vodka and the pop-up 70’s discotech evoked the bygone era of the Studio 54 Days never forgotten.

The show began with a dramatic entrance in the form of a choriagraphed light show accompanied by the eeerie soundtrack from Ridley Scott’s Alien Film Saga as the models descended from another futuristic planet far and beyond the universe with Winnie Harlow, Hayley Baldwin, Alessandra Ambrosio and Martha Hunt walking this season. It was a great feeling of joy and excitement as the new Millenial Supermodel’s strutted their stuff on the runway in the name of high fashion.

Julien’s show was the perfect photo op to steal some of the limelight yourself on the Red Carpet as Georgia managed to attract the attention of the British press with her striking looks with poise. Learning to work the camera is one thing, but how to pull off that effortless red carpet look is about choosing the right clothes, so choose wisely. Try matching a fitted white dress shirt with a leather jacket over the top and slim fitting tapered jeans in a unique colour which contrast with the rest of your outfit. The benefit of this, is that it enables you to slowly draw the eye in from bottom to the top which elongate proportions with everything being narrow and well fitted garments works best.
