Lucky for me I know this city at the back of my hand having been based here a few years I won’t ever find myself bored as there is so much to see and do in London which boast the best bars, restaurants, hotels to fantastic nightlife. Sometimes it’s also good to have time to yourself and reflect like catching up on things like task, hobbies or friends are always great to make you laugh and experience fun things together.

What will you be up to this Bank Holiday Weekend? Nevertheless I hope you make the most it before the new season starts and we begin to see Autumn season again. I don’t think I’ve ever planned that far ahead even though its already just around the corner and we a see a shift again in our wardrobe from spring/summer to autumn/winter styles to dictate what we wear day to day can be exciting also as our favourite staples get their chance to take centre stage.

Today I took a walk from Trafalgar Square and while I was there visited the National Portrait Gallery for a moment of peace away from the Hustle and Bustle of London town just slightly after lunch time. It’s always good to walk on foot if you have the time to spare as you watch the people go by and spontaneously find new places to check out one being unique Hotels with a quiet bar as well as a luxury dining room with exquisite ambience.  After a busy morning you’d want to find somewhere to relax and unwind to spend the rest of your lazy afternoon. I’d just arrived at this Hotel on the corner of Suffolk Place on Haymarket where a friend and I decided to pop in for quick drink The Brumus Bar and Restaurant located inside the Haymarket Hotel before heading over to The Haymarket Hotel Bar later in the evening.

The hotel interiors were very elegant and quirky as I noticed the Canine Doggy Pictures upholstered onto the back of the bar chairs and restaurant in a regal purple and pink fuchasia appealed to me. For all you pet lovers at home as they say a man’s best friend is also his dog so immediately I felt very at home here. I thought it had a personal touch as well as being distinctly sophisticated which stood out as a style statement. I’m really impressed from what I’ve seen so far even though it was just a brief visit I’d definitely would pop in again for the foreseeable future if I ever happen to be just passing by in the local area.

Today I went to preview the new Menswear and Womenswear collection during London Fashion Week Men over the weekend for Belstaff Spring Summer 2020 Travelogue in Hoxton Docks East London. I always rather look forward to each season because I admire the contemporary take on the brands history by Belstaff’s Creative Director Lehnhardt-Moore where he captures the imagination of the labels industrial heritage.

For this season the inspiration is drawn from the original archive where travel and exploring remain at the heart of the brands aesthetics hence the self title of the new collection Travelogue. New millenials like to travel as that saying ‘travel makes you richer’ we crave experiences that take us back to nature and thus Belstaff creates the ideal and functional range of fashion forward clothing and accessories for discerning clientele who demand effortless and versatile wardrobe built for contemporary life.

As busy working professionals our intent to have a closet that reflects a fast paced modern life should include perfect transition staples for work, leisure, travel; day to night concept is exactly what Belstaff have created. I felt there was a shift towards conscious and sustainable approach to clothing that will be functional with a purpose to remain beyond seasons.

The atmosphere for the showcase of the new collection at Hoxton Docks set the scene of taking me on a journey of discovering the off beaten track as I really did feel the setting was authentic of the industrial north of England since the labels founding in the 1920’s. You really did feel you were transported back in time observing your surroundings of the exposed brick work, metal struts and warehouse structures. As you enter the warehouse I noticed the space evoked a desert trip with vintage camping canvas, a large tent and cacti brought the collection to life.

Fine details in the collection were kept contemporary with use of contrasts such as juxtaposing textures and colours between soft and hard where the contrast provide the essential look for a modern wardrobe.

Signatures pieces that inspired this seasons collection were the sleevless Castmaster cotton fishing jacket in orange from the archive in orange dry waxed cotton vs khaki version retains sleeves of the original and the XL500 Nautical Jacket from the nineteen seventies was re-imagined in Oxford Nylon.

Themes in the collection explore the influence of military is evident in the use of deep English rifle green and the newly introduced camo tech fabric. I really liked the luxury fine knits and oiled suede polish up the look, contrast with sun faded pique shirts and sweatshirts for men and women.

Throughout the collection worn in looks are created with the use of slub yarns and pigment dyed fabrics for a vintage feel including pieces in dyed sahara cloth and cotton broadcloth create a military look. With this in mind Belstaff have catered to those who love to travel and explore with key looks such as a battered safari jacket is teamed with raw Ecru denim, while new adventure print show line drawn illustrations applied to a rayon shirt for women and linen version for men.

Lastly, to finish off the look for the modern man and woman trooper boots in brown leather and canvas, along with a chukka boots with commando sole in suede and stonewashed cross body canvas bags with leather trims give edge to the collection this spring summer 2020 collection.

Disclaimer: Many Thanks to Belstaff for inviting me to preview the new seasons collections and all opinions expressed will be my own

It’s London Fashion Week Men this weekend as I managed to catch the last leg of the show schedule to attend the Belstaff  Presentation preview of the new seasons Womenswear and Menswear Collections Travelogue Spring Summer 2020. Being a Sunday and the weather very pleasant the beginning of June I was feeling inspired by preppy vibes as my weekend off duty look for today’s event. For today’s look I decided to put together a smart casual look incorporating light weight denim and a basic casual separate such as a T-shirt for a relaxed smart casual outfit. I also got to wear one of my favourite signature pinstripe blazers as my statement piece which looks great in anycase to dress up my outfit is very versatile and understated at the same time which goes with anything. I love it because it’s not your standard conventional denim, it’s denim with a twist.

London Fashion Week Men’s

How is everyone’s summer going so far as London town wouldn’t feel complete without Men’s Fashion Week and today is Day One of LFW Mens. The first day is always an exciting one, because we all know there are a quite a few events and big shows going on all at once. All of the attention today would be on one cult fashion house which brings me to mention that Italy’s biggest Street wear Label  ICEBERG is doing their London Take Over during Men’s Fashion Week. For today I was lucky enough to go along with a friend to attend this show and one of my current favorites as the Italian designers are known for bright use of vibrant colour too.

I just had to wear something from the label such as my signature piece leather jacket is very luxury in quality being made in Italy. I have fond memories in purchasing this jacket and what I most love about it is the sport lux feel to the fabric is versatile for the warm weather we were experiencing in London today. When the weather get’s warm it’s best to have breathable layers so it’s easy to manage while on the go during fashion week. Being Friday evening I thought it was best to stick to an all black colour palette as it’s minimal and just my style, but sometimes I tend to switch in between other looks depending on how I’m feeling that day, where I am going and who I’m going to meet sounds appropriate don’t you think.

Rumour has it a Model a friend of mine Georgia has recently just got back from a QE2 Cruise to New York for Transatlantic Fashion Week to walk for the king of Seventies Glamour himself Julien Macdonald before he debut’s his Spring Summer 2018 collection at London Fashion Week. So, who do you think I called then to come with me to the show? Of course it had to be Georgia as she’s lot’s of fun and I wanted to hear all about the model gossip during her trip to New York. Oh, wait!!! something about Mr Tinder and a cute guy model she nickname’s ‘The Lord’ both walked in the show for Transatlantic Fashion Week.

Meanwhile, back in London town it was all about the big names in the modelling industry that Julien always get’s to walk the catwalk in his stunning designs for the world’s gliteratti to see. As per usual me and Georgia could’nt help spy the FROW of VIP and Influencers in attendance from Lady Victoria Hervey, to Ronan Keating, Caprice and X-Factor’s Alexandra Burke who came to support Julien Macdonald this season. Most of all Julien certainly know’s how to throw an amazing party and look after his guest with pre-show drinks on arrival sponsored by Ciroc Vodka and the pop-up 70’s discotech evoked the bygone era of the Studio 54 Days never forgotten.

The show began with a dramatic entrance in the form of a choriagraphed light show accompanied by the eeerie soundtrack from Ridley Scott’s Alien Film Saga as the models descended from another futuristic planet far and beyond the universe with Winnie Harlow, Hayley Baldwin, Alessandra Ambrosio and Martha Hunt walking this season. It was a great feeling of joy and excitement as the new Millenial Supermodel’s strutted their stuff on the runway in the name of high fashion.

Julien’s show was the perfect photo op to steal some of the limelight yourself on the Red Carpet as Georgia managed to attract the attention of the British press with her striking looks with poise. Learning to work the camera is one thing, but how to pull off that effortless red carpet look is about choosing the right clothes, so choose wisely. Try matching a fitted white dress shirt with a leather jacket over the top and slim fitting tapered jeans in a unique colour which contrast with the rest of your outfit. The benefit of this, is that it enables you to slowly draw the eye in from bottom to the top which elongate proportions with everything being narrow and well fitted garments works best.

Every party dress you could ever want and just in time for the Oscars and awards season. Julien Macdonald brings high octane glamour once again to Londons catwalk this season as all the excitement unfolds with Victorias Secret Model Winnie Harlow walking in the show.

Gun metal detail embellishments on garments to create a second skin Armour effect as menswear was shown along side Julien Macdonalds womenswear collection was exuberantly cool. The collection was inspired by Surrealism and the metropolis landscape by Fritz Lang as models emerged down the catwalk.

Here’s a pre – show snap before the show to see for yourself. Julien’s collection is always one to look forward to every season so expect glamour and glitz nonetheless its just sooo chic. I love being a part of it.
